Ach. Yes. That word is sneaky, it took me a while to even see what you were talking about.

Glad you're enjoying the story. :) My plot to deprive people of sleep is working, mwuah ha ha ha!

Good story, it's keeping me up long past my bedtime ;)

"Unbidden, the sad eyes of her would-be child eyes appeared in Liseli’s mind, and she closed her own eyes as if it would help keep the vision away."
An 'eyes' too many in there?

The role reversal thing is actually one of the real beauty things about the whole book. Look at how the characters started out in the burger house, and look where they are now. Now that's what I call "dynamic" characters. The entire story's been leading up to this, basically.

Hm . . . I should really re-read all the comments I've missed before I virtually repeat what Sarah said in the comment section of the previous chapter.

@ Donna I think one of the reasons you saw it as such a turnabout/role reversal is because Russ has grown up a LOT since we last saw him from Liseli's point of view.

Also, with all the shit that Liseli has been going through, I think it's natural that she felt a bit of self doubt as well (which might be why I still had reservations about her view on Russ).

Or maybe I'm just full of shit. :p

But it is nice to see Main Characters grow and . . . live, like in real life.

I'm not really sure why it took me longer than Liseli to be satisified about Russ . . . but I'm glad it is and I'm glad they're together and I'm just a puddle of glad right now.

Yep, not the next chapter, but a few after that. I'm in the midst of editing a chapter from his PoV even now. :)

Ok, that's supposed to be * puppy eyes * but it looks like bookending asterisks makes things italics. Interesting . . .

Ah, I see that, especially with her reliable take on everything. My guess (speaking for myself) is that Russ's change was so sudden that it was hard to accept. Not to mention Ricalli's a bastard and we saw that and what he would do to get what he wanted. Liseli didn't so that seed of mistrust was with the readers because we were privy to information she wasn't.

I'm hoping to read another chapter from Russ's POV just to see his take on everything that's going on. Will we get those??? puppy eyes

I just meant that once Liseli was satisfied that it was Russ I assumed everyone else would be as well. Her suspicions were set to rest a couple parts back, after some initial doubts, and though she worries over the changes she notices in Russ she doesn't think it's not him.
