I don't think resurrecting Alisiya was high on Russ's "to-do" list, especially since Liseli would have just tried to kill her again. I suppose Leeton might have considered it but since he was to die there was no one left who wanted her alive and no one to put her in the river once they got back.

Bhy didn't Russ bring Alisiya back and put her in the river? Why leave her with her father? Isn't it the river gives blood? Hmm..Maybe Leeton didn't think of that..I like it! It's sad and at the same time it was scary..

Thank you kindly! I enjoy expressing my reactions to things in poetry, and Leeton's story is truly a tragic one that brought me to tears.

You may have your love, and I am left with mine.

Beautiful and sad beyond measure.

Thank you for sharing all this. I have become an avid reader and fan.

Light and laughter,
SongCoyote

I weep for the King, whose love was so strong
That he Opened the door to his very own death
To face it, eyes open, illusions all gone
And to face down a killer with his final breath

His strength was his will and his endless resolve
Fueled by the loss of his life's greatest gift
Around which all choices he made had revolved
But even a Key finds some doors he can't shift

The Gate claimed Her due, and with Her he remained
The last thing he saw was his daughter's white face
He longed still for vengeance, but finally refrained
And accepted the price of his choices with grace

Goodbye, Leeton. May whatever waits for you after death be easier on you than was this life. My tears I offer freely in this hope.

Light and laughter,

Thanks. :) I almost named the final chapter 'The Road Not Taken' but changed my mind. Didn't fit as well as I wanted it to.

How could Alisyia possibly been one of your favourites?

Oh gosh, how could she not be? I love every single thing about her. She's the best villain I'll ever write, anyway.

How could Alisyia possibly been one of your favourites? :o

Beutiful chapter. I also feel sorry for Leeton, he was definetily my favourite character so far.
And Currun. And Ricallyn . . . I seem to hail towards the dead ones as well :P

What will happen now though? Will Eliasha's murder be blamed on Liseli? Will it be blamed on Russ for releasing Alisiya?

There's room for much sadness in the next chapters . . . :(

You have such strange ways of demonstrating your favoritism. ;)
