So far I like this story of the queens the best. It's all sorts of creepy that I so wish I could write. That old man with the black eyes, just ambling around looking all harmless but knowing he isn't, it sends chills. I love psychological fear. It's so much scarier.

"From the mist emerges a figure, an old man walking with the help of a cain." - do you mean cane?

I was a little distracted by the present tense, actually. But I think that was mostly due to the fact that you don't write in it normally, because this is well written.

The one with Prelude in E Minor on it is called "Concerto of the Pines" and the artist is Lawrence Nash Groupé. But it's not on iTunes, I checked. :(

Ah, that story went perfect with the music. Chopin's Prelude in E minor has such a haunting quality. He wrote it while in a sanatorium, struggling with tuberculosis. The sadness of that time is reflected in this piece. Wow, I really admire the way that you were able to make the story have the same slow, mysterious, sad feel of the music. Bravo!

By the way, which Chopin album do you have? I'll try and look it up on iTunes. Thanks!

In fact, it felt so natural that it didn't really click with me that it was in Present Tense until Part two.

I really liked the voice and feel of this . . . so tangible.

yay! This was my first attempt at writing something in present tense and I wasn't sure if it was working or not.
